Meet Scarlett Blow-wave perfectionist. Violinist. Genuinely loves her job.
Scarlett started working toward this career in Year 10 and hasn't looked back since. She's the apprentice who stays late to perfect a blow-dry, plays violin in her spare time, and genuinely lights up when a client loves their hair.
Quiet, fun, and completely in your corner
Scarlett had her plan sorted before most people her age had figured out their next week. She did work experience at Chumba Warragul in Year 10, fell for the space, the clients and the team, and went straight to her career teachers to make a school-based apprenticeship happen. She finished Year 11 and 12 alongside her training.
The thing that surprised her most about the job? "How much doing someone's hair really makes their day." She still thinks about that. It's why she takes every blow-dry seriously — working hardest right now on the bouncy kind, and the twisty kind, until she's got both exactly where she wants them.
Outside the salon, Scarlett has been playing violin since she was five. She spent four years performing in the Victorian State School Spectacular orchestra. She's also rarely without her golden retriever Texas, her family and her friends — or the urge to go shopping.
Blow waves. All of them — but especially the bouncy ones and the twisty ones. She's determined to give every client the best possible result, and she practises until she gets there.
Precision is a habit, not an accident
There's something violin and hairdressing have in common: you can't fake either. Both take years of patient, deliberate practice before the feel becomes instinct. Scarlett has been building that precision since she was five years old.
She draws her inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest daily, has a soft spot for anything involving colour — retouches, brights, anything with real pigment — and in five years sees herself qualified and building a loyal clientele of her own.
