Meet Parker Honest, understanding, upbeat. And a very good pair of scissors.
Parker started his apprenticeship at Chumba in May 2021 β right in the thick of Melbourne's lockdowns β and never left. Trained under Colleen, he's grown into one of Windsor's most-requested stylists. Bespoke cuts are his signature. Big transformations are his fun.
Chumba-grown, from first-year apprentice to Senior Stylist
Parker joined Chumba in May 2021, in the middle of Melbourne's lockdown chaos, and started his apprenticeship under the watchful eye of his mentor Colleen. He's been here ever since β one of Chumba's genuine home-grown stylists.
What kept him? The clients. "We have a really good client base at Chumba full of very wonderful and kind people who I love having in my chair β building those relationships has been amazing." That's the whole answer, and it's why so many of his clients have been with him for years.
He'll be the first to credit the team around him. On his promotion to Senior Stylist: it feels great to be recognised for the work, built up with the help of all his fellow stylists at Chumba teaching him. On where he finds inspiration: his own colleagues, watching their work and techniques.
What he won't tell you is that he's now on the other side of that equation β working alongside Carl to guide Chumba's apprentices through their cuts. One client watching it happen called them both "hair legends".
"I'm far more in tune with a client's wants, but also their needs β what works for them, what their at-home maintenance looks like, what their lifestyle is like. All of it informs the process."
Lived-in blondes, funky cuts, and the occasional 90s stripe
Parker is a strong colourist β freehand balayage is a genuine strength, and he's well known around the salon for his 90s stripes. Right now he's loving lived-in blondes and anything a bit more alternative.
But ask him what he'd most like to be known for and the answer is cutting. "I really try to ensure clients get bespoke cuts tailored to their own needs, and I personally really enjoy cutting."
The work that sticks with him most isn't always the biggest transformation. It's often the simpler jobs β the ones where the client's reaction tells him they've finally had a genuinely good salon experience, especially if they've struggled with hairdressers in the past.

"I'd just had a cut at an expensive city salon known for precision, but my hair still felt flat. Carl and Parker immediately understood what I meantβ¦ They weren't afraid to create proper layers where others had been overly cautious. I washed it, let it air dry, and YES β the volume is still there. Carl and Parker are hair legends. You people KNOW HAIR π"
