We Need to Have "The Talk"...

So here we are again. That time of year where we gather our collective adultness, take a deep breath, and have the talk.

You know the one.

No, not that one. The other one. The one about prices.

Here's the situation. The Fair Work Commission — those lovely people in Canberra who decide what our team gets paid — have handed down a 4.75% increase to wages across the hair and beauty industry, effective 1 July 2026. We then consulted our accountants (spreadsheets were opened, creative juices immediately died), did some advanced hairdressing mathematics, and landed on a 5% increase across all services.

We know. We're sorry. We tried negotiating with our staff about the whole "going without food and rent" arrangement but they weren't having it. Spoilt, the lot of them. We also lodged a formal complaint with the national cost of living but have yet to hear back.

The good news: we still love you. The service is still exceptional. The coffee is still hot. And frankly, given everything that goes into a Chumba appointment, we think you're still getting a pretty good deal.
