Jessica Riches with AHFA trophy

Jess Riches Wins the AHFA Australian Apprentice of the Year 2019

Winner Winner Winner!!! 🥳😋🥳😋

We are beyond proud of our Young Gun Jessica Riches @jessicry_ , from our Chumba Chapel St Salon, who took out the @aushairfashionawards Australian Apprentice of the Year 2019.

We would also like to congratulate every person who put their hand up to enter these awards! It’s takes guts, courage, passion and skill to just get to the finals 🙌🙌🙌 .

Jessica beat out a field of seven of Australia's top young hairdressing talents to claim the victory with an outstandingly beautiful black & white collection, her very first in fact...

The Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) is Australia’s largest and most successful independent hairdressing awards program. The awards attract hundreds of entries from salons and individuals across Australia. Entries are judged by a panel of international industry professionals in London, UK.

In achieving this award 'little' Jessica upholds the tradition of Chumba producing the top young stylists in the country having also won this accolade on three other occasions plus numerous finalists over the last six years.

At the Chumba in Chapel St salon we've known from the very start of her career  that 'little' Jess has very special hands. Her actual hand dexterity is outstanding (yes we rate our talents hand skills - nerds that we are lol). For a young stylist having outstanding talent in your hands is super important to us.

This was Jessica's first ever photoshoot and collection. I think we can all see for ourselves the immense talent that has just been released into the Chumba and Hair Industry world.

Jessica is beginning to build her very own client base now - why not get in early with this talented young hairdresser as she grows into one of Chumba's finest emerging stylists.
