Welcome Kylie J .... or is it Katy P?

by Carl Keeley

Well she looks like Katy Perry doesn't she lol! It's the teeth and the hair me thinks.

Anyway... BIG news for the Warragul Team as they welcome Senior Hairdresser Kylie Jones to the salon starting August.

Kylie is no stranger to Chumba as in a round about and around about again kind of a way... so try to stay with me on this one.... Kylie's been around us for what seems like ages. She's originally from Perth. Ok so far... Kylie's bff is Vanessa (aka she who is dead to us for leaving Melb's for her family back home - how could she?).

Vanessa (she who's name cannot be spoken out loud) bought Kylie in one day and so began the Chumba Team's adoption of a hairdresser that was not one of our own but was - if you know what I mean. Basically the entire Team just Loves this young lady. None more so than Mrs Chumba and the genius ColleenS (whom Kylie reminds us of so much - without the full moon craziness lol). But, she remained just a friend of Chumba. Are you on my payroll Mr Chumba would ask this ever present stylist that seemed to have her own staff locker here - No she would reply. Well one day we  advertised for a new Senior and a hairdresser named Kylie J applied. We said yes she said - No. She couldn't leave her current employer right now. Ok no prob - Mrs C cried a bit about that one.

Six months later we've advertised again and a Kylie J has applied again. This time Mr Boss had the conversation (can't risk upsetting the Queen again) Two Soy Turmeric Lattes latter and  Kylie J is now Kylie Chumba. Thank you Vanessa (she who's face we miss everyday here) for your bff we'll take good care of her. And finally welcome Kylie J to Team Chumba Warragul.

ps: Kylie's strength is in Colouring and long hair work. She has been personally trained by Queen BK and the Colour Genius Colleen at Windsor. She is now under the mentorship of the Mega Duo  Chris & Debbie so you know she's going to be a Super Star.

The Birds and the Bees Talk - Annual Price Rise

by Carl Keeley

So with the usual 'unconfortable-ness' (that's not actually a word you know but I'm trying to ease into this slowly) it's time we all faced one of those subjects in life that, although a reality, it does challenge our collective adultness. We all know it's coming so let's get to the point...  I hope you'll still Love us after this...

It's that time of the year again, the end of financial year (or EOFY if you're a smarty pants).

Unfortunately that brings along our annual price hike. This year the contributing factors are a 3.3% increase for your Stylists life style needs (salaries) and 2.1% for our Nation's inflated costs (standard of living in paradise costs).

Using advanced hairdressing mathematics (voice dial, who needs number pads when you have Siri) we called our accountants and asked them to crack open a spreadsheet for us - as we all know spreadsheets immediately kill all creative juices and they're Kryptonite for 'We' Creative Types (ahem!).

The verdict was duly handed down and that is a 5% increase on all services give or take rounding differences of coinage.

Of course we apologise for the increase and will continue to beat our staff about the head for not agreeing to go without food or rent. They are a spoilt bunch  after-all. Also to be taken to task will be the wealthy nation we live in - damn this beautiful but expensive place.

As a peace offering all clients this month will receive a complimentary Kevin Murphy Treatment by way of us grovelling - but  you must mention this at the time of booking how funny this post is in order to stroke our expansive Ego's and to take advantage of us too.

Please love us we are but mere pawns in the game of macro economics.

When Your Job is to be Ridiculously Good Looking - Who do You Call ?

by Carl Keeley

No not Ghostbusters mashed up with Zoolander - we're not stuck in any 80 - 90's remake vibe are we? Move on please.

We have a lot of extremely good looking people around here in case you haven'y noticed. We also have  an extreme amount of great looking hair, extremely great looking in fact. Some of our peeps make their daily with the way they look. So a great Ballyage or Ombre is serious stuff when you dollars rely on your hair colour. When the 'pro girls' need serious colouring they call seriously great colourists. Luckily for the rest of 'We' normal people those same colourists are available on tap at Chumba.

Want what she's having? Do you really really want it... well of course you can. That's what we do - imagine the Insta likes with hair like this.

My hair - I have never been happier . Seriously being with you guys the last 2-3 years . Has been so good . Just expressing gratitude as I've been reminded by so many friends how unhappy they are with their hairdressers . I've never had a bad experience and wanted to let you know 🙂 love you! ❤️
