Best Hair Treatment? What You Would find in a Hairdresser's Bathroom.

We chat with Chumba Concept Salon Owner, Belinda Keeley to discover her top hair treatments.

What Hair treatments do you have in your bathroom cupboard that you personally you use at your home?

BK: “Treatments definitely come and go in my house Im always trying everything I can because it I believe it works for me then I can recommend to my team and clients. Im always on the hunt for the best hair treatment and am so excited to share my top hair treatments with you all. My current go to hair treatments are in no particular order:

  1.  Khairpep K18 Masque
  2.  Orbie Gold Lust Transformative Mask
  3.  Orbie Gold Lust Pre-Shampoo Intensive Treatment

Tell us what is so special about those 3 hair treatments?

Khairpep K18 Masque

"This product is changing the way we work with hair!!!

It's an actual treatment that changes the way my hair feels with incredible science as its foundation that backs up all of its claims.

Khairpep is fast and easy to use at home so fits with my busy lifestyle. It's a pretty special product that penetrates the hair to repair broken disulphide bonds and reverse damage.

It’s the ultimate, permanent fix that doesn’t wash and seriously I could not live without this treatment either at home or in the salon!"

Orbie Gold Lust Transformative Mask

BK: "I absolutely love to use this mask on the weekends when I have a little more time around the house its like my signature go to wind down to treat myself.

I love to leave it in my freshly shampoo hair for about 20min so Its great for long soaks in the bath.

This treatment penetrates to rebuild each fibre with curative white tea, baobab and jasmine extracts together with bio-restorative complex, improving elasticity and fortifying hair to rediscover its softness, body and inner brilliance.

Restore overworked hair to its prime with each use. And Smells like pure luxury!"

ORIBE GOLD LUST TRANSFORMATIVE MASQUE

Orbie Gold Lust Pre-Shampoo Intensive Treatment

BK: "This is a go to magic find for my daughter who has a Natural Afro..think Beyonce and even as a hairdresser of 22 years I find this the most challenging hair type to manage. This unusual treatment is designed to go on as a pre shampoo treatment. This rejuvenating pre-shampoo treatment balm melts into hair, deeply moisturising and repairing while protecting against harsh aggressors such as washing, styling and pollution. Softness, shine and strength are restored. We do this weekly on my daughter and her hair after the treatment becomes more manageable for us. If you try this treatment at home BEWARE and follow the instructions properly as it is a little unusual in the way it is put onto dry hair before you shampoo and can not be used any other way!"

How much should you spend on a great treatment at home?

BK: "I think if you are going to do any treatments at home you should get a recommendation from your hairdresser….don’t be that person that has 10 cheap products that you just grab from the supermarket that don’t work, weigh your hair down and gunk up your shower.

Just get one that is prescribed to you by a trained professional to work specifically for your hair needs or problems.

If you budget between $50 and $100 for a home treatment you will be winning.

If you think that sounds expensive its absolutely nothing compared to a top skin care line mask for your face!

And if that sill sounds expensive to you just try this free treatment....

One of the best treatments you can give your hair is to allow your body to produce it. It's the oil that comes out of you scalp. Try going 3-7 days without shampooing your own oil from your hair. This is a treatment produced from your very own body…how cool is that!"

Where should you purchase your hair treatments from?

BK: "I would highly recommend you purchase from your actual hairdresser.

When you support a small business like most salons you are we literally do a little happy dance.

We spend so much time learning, studying and using our wealth of experience to make sure you have all our expert knowledge! Try to support local and next time your shopping online have a real good think about who your money is supporting…I would hope you chose your hairdresser even if its may cost you an extra $5 because sadly we can not compete with bulk buying power.

I know if I recommend something in my salon to you you may be able to find in on the world wide web cheeper, I have even experienced clients shopping my recommendations on their phones when I have it on the shelf beside them in the real…. SIGH…I don’t want to get on a rant but please consider supporting your actual hairdresser!  Thats pretty bad salon etiquette 101."

Any thing else to add about home treatments?

BK: "Show your hair little love and care and it will love you back xxx Get yourself a top hair treatment!. And of course shop local and hit up my shop."
