Should I Cut My Hair Short?

The Long and Short of it, Everything to Consider Before Getting a Short Haircut.

It’s a Friday night and you’ve gotten home from work, had a glass of wine and taken your '8hr ponytail 'or messy bun out, staring at yourself in the mirror you pull your hair up above your shoulders and pretend to have a chic Parisian bob ala 'french girl hair'.

That little voice inside your head tells you how incredible you would look with a tiny little bob and how effortless styling would be in the morning and an image of you strolling through the streets in your very own fashion show flashes before your eyes and you know it’s time for a change and a short haircut!

"Just thinkin’ bout how cute I look"

Here is a list of things to do before you make your appointment :

  1. Collect images, make a pinterest board, cut out magazine clippings.

Having images helps your stylist realize your vision, a picture really is worth a thousand words. You could even check out our instagram for inspo! Chumba Instagram

If you think you’ve done enough research into short haircuts do more! Celebrity transformations can be hugely inspirational and help you decide how short to go check out these iconic pixie cutsfrom history.

  2. Have a look at what products and tools you have in your bathroom everything from brushes, hot tools to styling products and shampoo and conditioner.

This will help your stylist teach you how to look after your new haircut.

  3. Think about how much time you actually want to spend on your hair in the morning.

This could be the difference between getting that pixie fringe that needs daily styling or keeping length around the face for a wash and wear vibe.

Remember we don’t all have an inhouse stylist like Kim Kardashian West

  4. This next step may hurt a little but it is essential

Have a talk with yourself and remember that you may not look exactly like that model in the photo when it's chopped. We all have completely different hair textures, thicknesses and colours. Not to mention different face shapes and features which may alter how the haircut looks but if you trust your stylist they will give you the best haircut for your hair type and face shape so you don’t end up feeling like this...bad hair cut

Taking the plunge and getting the chop is one of the most exciting things you can do. Hair really can change your entire attitude and demina.

Coco Chanel did say “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life” and i personally think she was spot on!
